These are live, interactive classes on Zoom.
In FUNctional Movement Classes;
We move our bodies.
We breathe deeply.
We strengthen our muscles from largest to smallest.
We rotate our shoulders, our arms, our hips, our legs, our ankles.
We shake our muscles to help them relax.
We balance on our toes, on one leg and on alternating legs.
We lie on our backs on a mat and use adaptive yoga poses to massage our spines.
We practice getting up and down off the floor.
We strengthen and stretch muscles that allow us to move, bend, work and play.
We move our bodies to increase feelings of well-being and to slow the aging process.
It works. It feels good. It’s empowering. It’s fun. Through movement we can feel better and maintain our independence longer.
FUNctional Movement Classes are for women who want to maintain mobility and well-being. FUNctional Movement classes teach you how to move to develop and maintain strength, flexibility and balance. In class, we lie on our backs and do adaptive yoga poses that help us stretch, strengthen and relax the muscles in our bodies, especially the spine. We use exercise balls to stretch and develop abdominal strength. We stand and practice balancing. We stretch and relax muscles.
